Update time!
Yesterday was a pretty evenful day overall. My sister graduated with her Doctorate of Veternary Medicine, so now she’s Doctor Sister. Grats her! Now she can repay student loans! >_> My daughter also had her final band concert and is now officially a member of their Intermediate/Concert band. She got a trophy and everything and was so pleased.
In my world, it’s pretty much official now, even though no announcement was made, so I guess I can post about it here. I’m now the Product Lead for our company’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS). This is our flagship product and I was on a team that spent around six months rewriting it from scratch to bring it in line with all of our other core products. I’m pretty excited about the opportunity and about the cool things we’ve got in store for it. So if your company needs an ATS, let me know and I can get you a demo.
My brother called me a few weeks ago and told me I’m going to be an uncle. The baby is due in late November so I told him it couldn’t be born on my birthday. I think that’s pretty fair since it was mine first. <_<
My cake obsession has not abated and I’ve made two tres leche cakes now (sorry for the no accents). They’re pretty good (my wife loves them), but I still want to fondant something. Then I found out there’s a cake supply store not too far away and I bet they have fondant. I think I’ll buy some and fondant my cat.

So I’m bored today and I don’t know why. Work’s been a lot of fun, but in the evenings I just haven’t wanted to do much. My wife wants to play Lost Odyssey, which is a great game, but I think I’d like a break for a night or two. To do what, I have no idea.
Oh yeah. I forgot to mention, but after my post who knows how long ago, I made a tres leche cake (not putting in the accents, sorry) and it was awesome. Now I have to make another one for mother’s day. >_< And I wanted to make some fondant too

Sorry for not posting for a week. I had to go into the office three out of five days this week to give training presentations on the new product our team’s been rolling out. Since I’ve been working on it since June of last year and coded or touched over half the application, the VP thought it’d be a good idea if I handled training the other departments. Based on feedback, I think he was right and I did a pretty good job. Some other work stuff happened, but I can’t talk about it quite yet.
I just checked the web stats and hits are starting to pick up again, which may be a good thing. Then I saw that I hit 30 hits in a single day this past week. O_O I’m guessing a spider crawled through here, but I have no idea. Whatever it was, it was scary…and should come back more often.
So I’m lazy too and have been putting off too many things lately, such as mowing the back yard, cleaning, and writing. I need motivation or at least something to make me stop playing World of Warcraft just to pass the time. I already have two level 70 characters who can’t get any gear upgrades except by raiding, so why do I need a third? Feel free to yell at me for motivation.
Now I have to finish cooking dinner because it’s still on the stove. After that, we’ll probably watch Ace of Cakes because I love that show and I’m obsessed with fondant and then maybe play Lost Odyssey. Whee Friday!

I’m tired this morning because we didn’t get home until late from the Dallas Stars game. We went because the offspring was playing the pre-game show along with the first intermission with her band. They sounded phenomenal and she had a lot of fun!
On a related note, TXDOT has a lot to learn about road design and construction. I have no idea why they have four of five lanes of Harry Hines blocked off at points, but it sure makes driving around at night suck, particularly when you’re not that familiar with the area.

WARNING! I am extremely pissed right now so this post may contain harsh language. It also may contain things I regret typing later.
Guess what? Two hours ago I was rear ended! This isn’t the first time it’s happened to me, but the first one was minor; a little tap with some bumper damage. It still sucked, but overall wasn’t a big deal. This time I wasn’t so lucky. Some person, who I will not be describing here for fear of using an inappropriate adjective, hit me at pretty high speed while I was stopped completely at a red light. Yes. Stopped completely. Not slowing down, not slamming my brakes. Stopped completely. So how’s my pretty blue car now? Check this shit out.

So it’s Sunday night, about 30 minutes before we run our 5v5 matches in WoW, so my weekend is just about over. This coming week will be a little busier than normal since I’m preparing training material on top of my normal job stuff, but it won’t be bad. Plus I’m looking forward to the training; I think it’ll be fun. O_o
Lately I’ve had a growing obsession with wanting to bake things. In addition, I’ve also been really wanting to come up with my own recipes rather than just following somoene else’s, which is even more dangerous in the baking world. And finally, I was recently introduced to tres leches (I’m not typing the accents) by Alton Brown, so I really want to do something with that concept. In short -I may do something bad involving milk when I do the shopping.

So I just noticed I had a new person subscribe to the blog. I’m not sure who you are (I don’t recognize the email address), but welcome! If you want, feel free to drop me a comment to tell me who you are and what you found interesting.
Unless you’re a bot. Then I will bot you! >_>

So according to my stats, I’ve basically had zero readers thus fine. While no longer a blow to my ego, I do think it’s peculiar that not even search engines have perused the site in two weeks. So now I’m going to blame that other theme I had installed and temporarily revert to the default one! If things look better with this one, I’ll know that the other theme was to blame and it can go away! If not, then I must suck. T_T
The kid’s going on her band trip to San Antonio tomorrow and will get back very late on Saturday. Not a big deal in my mind, but it’s her first trip away from all family, so we’ll see how she does. The part that sucks is that I have to get up at 4:45 AM to get take her to the drop off location by 5:30…and then I have to go into the office, so I’m going to have a long day.

This isn’t me forgetting to post as much as it’s me not having anything to say.
The kid’s spring break has officially started, so she’s been around the house serving as a distraction from work. I like working and my current project’s interesting, but hearing Pikachu smashing things in SSBB in the background can pull my focus away at times. Fortunately, I handled it well and didn’t actually go play any rounds against her.
Now I’m waiting for my pizza to arrive for dinner, so I’m going to go watch Ace of Cakes. You should watch it too. Maybe soon, I’ll write up my politics rant that’s been building.

Ah, another glorious Monday. Nothing like waking up early to take the kid to school and then driving back home to work. I love telecommuting. <3
This weekend, we cleaned up the yard a bit, trimming and ripping out most of the nasty rose bushes. As a result, I’m still a bit sore and covered in thorn scratches. How awesome is that? Next weekend, we’ll probably end up mowing and putting in pavers in the back patio area since the dogs tore up the mulch we had in there. And that’ll all be on Saturday since Sunday is Easter. Ow again.
